This page was created to provide extensive Philly cheese steak reviews of the best New York cheese steak places. This place should follow in the tradition of the original Philadelphia cheese steak recipe (or as close to it as possible).

The more information that you provide about their Philly cheese steaks, the better for everybody (unless you are afraid that your home town may become famous like Pat’s and Geno’s Steaks in Philadelphia). I am sure New York has good cheese steaks but I doubt that they can beat the inventors of the sandwich. If so then great but the food community wants to know where. So if you are to posts a comment on here please restrict your information to the name of the best NY Philly cheese steak and where it is located. Then you can expand and tell us all about it.
Without proof then saying that New York has better cheeses steaks than Philly is useless.

Just because you are from New York doesn't mean that you have a claim to everything. The Philly cheese steak is called the Philly cheese steak because it was invented in Philly, it is made best in Philly, and it is plentiful in Philly. I am sure that NY can produce a mean cheese steak but please give credit where credit is due.
It is already common knowledge that NY takes claim on the best pizza but you can't have it all. Philly is an excellent culinary city and produces quality food well beyond just the cheese steak.
Anyway you slice it is still a Philly cheese steak all over the world!
New York is known for alot of food. New York Pizza, New York hot dogs, New York cheesecake, New York delis, New York Big pastarmi and cornedbeef sandwhiches, New York Bakerys, New York Bagels, Coney Island hot dogs, Brooklyn Red Vellet Cake, Coney Island Frozen Custard, New York chinese food, New York strip steak, New York Steakhouse, Best gyros on the Eastcoast are in New York City, orginally in America started in Chicago and big on the west coast. After all Chicago did take pizza and hot dogs form NYC and put their own twist on them. Its about time New York took something from Chicago. I can never even find gyros in Philly, I did a few times and the were horrible! get the picture.
ReplyDeleteThe big thing in Philly is cheesewiz on cheesesteaks you can get cheesewiz on chessesteaks in NYC but most New Yorkers think thats nasty. Provolne is prefered or American cheese yellow or white. And some people in NYC put mayo on cheesesteaks and I am one of them.
Wanna know why New York Pizza is so good, its because of the pizza dough, New York Bakerys overall, Bagles, bread, rolls etc. ITS BECAUSE OF THE LEGENDARY NEW YORK CITY TAP WATER. STRAIGHT FROM THE TAP. "I don't recommend drinking it but adding NYC tap water to baking products makes the dough perfect in everyway.
Philly is known for chessesteaks thats it!!!

Philly people need to stop thinking that phillys the only city with a good chessesteak. New York makes a great cheesesteak period.
1st Pizza in America was in New York City (orignally Italy), 1st Hot Dog New York City, 1st frozen custard Coney Island Brookly NYC, and many more. Around the World these foods are New York foods, New York started them, New York has these foods all over the city, New York does these foods the best. Infact Pizza Hot Dogs etc. were adopted or stolen from New York City by all other cities in America including Philly so a simple Thank You would be nice. Cause your Welcome!!!
