Best Delaware Cheese Steak Reviews

Best Delaware Cheese Steak Reviews

This page was created to provide extensive Philly cheese steak reviews of the best Delaware cheese steak places. This place should follow in the tradition of the original Philadelphia cheese steak recipe (or as close to it as possible).

If you know of a place worthy of being considered the best Philly cheese steak restaurant, shop, place, store (you get the point) then please be kind enough to comment on this page. The more information that you provide about their Philly cheese steaks, the better for everybody (unless you are afraid that your home town may become famous like Pat’s and Geno’s Steaks in Philadelphia). But don’t worry the tourists are friendly!

Don’t forget to discuss what type of cheese steak they are famous for (with onions, American cheese, cheddar cheese, with peppers, big steak, large steak, etc.), where they are located, the name (Duh!), and whatever else makes you excited. The world is depending on your best Philly cheese steak reviews so please be kind enough to describe your nominee the best that you can!

  1. there is only one great cheesesteak in Delaware, located close to the PA/DE border. Its the Claymont Steak Shop, 3526 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, www.claymontsteaksop.com. Its been a family run business since 1966, and is famous for both the quality and quantity of their steaks. Anytime you go in there, you will see a mound of steak heaped on their huge grill, and long lines at the register. They've won numerous awards for their cheesesteaks, and were even recently the only Delaware steakshop to be included in "The Great Philly Cheesesteak Book". Their steaks come in three sizes, the smallest being 10" and the largest "Jumbo" being 18". They use prime rib as their meat of choice, and it can be topped wth your choice of american, provolone, cheez whiz, or mozzarella, along with fried onions, peppers, or wahatever suits you. Its got a huge dining room for eating in, and you can watch all your food being cooked as you wait. For those who bring guests or family that prefer something other than cheesesteak (though I can't imagine why), they've got excellent pizza, subs, wings, ribs and salads as well. I hear that they are also in the process of opening up a second store near the University of Delaware at Amstel Square on Elkton Road.
